While it may seem like the iPhone is hands-down the most popular cell phone, the Blackberry is actually (still) the top “smartphone†for major corporations and businesses, including C.R. England, according to an article published in the Wall Street Journal. In fact, using applications available on Blackberry phones, C.R. England is able to track its fleet up to the minute instead of every half hour, as was the case with its old tracking system. The GPS function on the phones also allows drivers to optimize their routes if needed (for example, to avoid traffic jams), enabling them to arrive at destinations on time.
Another important function the Blackberry provides that’s used by C.R. England drivers is the Push to Talk service. Similar to a walkie-talkie, it allows users to connect and communicate with one another instantly without dialing. So, drivers can give updates in a matter of seconds without the safety risks dialing would entail.
